Woman struck on I-93 in Dorchester

DORCHESTER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A woman was struck on the southbound side of Interstate 93 Thursday night.

Police said the incident happened at about 9 p.m. near the Columbia Road exit.

The woman was hurt, but conscious when police arrived. It wasn't immediately known why she was on the expressway.

The driver did stop at the scene. There was no word on any charges being filed.

Two lanes of the highway were shut down for a time, but were later reopened.
