(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Boston police hope a surveillance picture will lead to the arrest of a violent attacker. Investigators say the man robbed and sexually assaulted a woman inside her Beacon Hill home.
The attack happened at about 3:15 a.m. on Saturday in the area of Joy and Myrtle streets. Police said the man showed the woman a weapon believed to be a knife in the attack.
The incident happened just days after two teenagers were assaulted in Roxbury. Police do not believe the attacks are connected, but are warning women to be cautious.
The man is described as black, 5 feet 8 inches tall in his late 20s or early 30s. Police said the man had braided hair, was wearing a du-rag cap, a tan-colored construction jacket, dark jeans and dark sneakers. The man was believed to have been carrying a large, blue backpack.
Anyone who may have been in the area of Joy and Myrtle streets between 2 and 3:30 a.m. on Saturday is asked to call Boston police at 617-343-4400.
