Woman picking up trash stuck by needle in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, NH — A person picking up trash in a Portsmouth park was stuck by a needle used typically used by diabetics Monday, police said.

The woman told police that she often walks through the park and picks up trash along the way. She thought she was picking up a crayon when she was stuck in her hand.

The woman was treated by doctors and sent a photo of the needle to police. They said the needle is a lancet, which diabetics use to draw blood for glucose testing.
