Woman, lab attacked by 2 pit bulls

SALEM, Mass. — A woman and her dog are recovering after being attacked by two pit bulls in Salem.

As seen on FOX25 News at 11 p.m., neighbors said the attack happened on Ober Street. The woman had been taking her dog for a walk around 7:30 p.m.

Witnesses told FOX25's Malini Basu that one of the pit bulls attacked the lab and the other went for the woman.

"I heard the dogs getting the lady...she was on the ground, her hand was all ripped open....I ran back to get her a towel," Renee Hutchinson said. "It was bad, they had to hold it with the cloth...Her arm was ripped open."

The victim was described as a woman in her 60s.

Police told FOX25 that, so far, no charges have been filed.
