Woman hit by MBTA bus in Boston

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A woman was hit by an MBTA bus near the intersection of Columbia and Geneva streets Monday.

Transit police said the woman was hit by a Route 41 bus just after 11:30 a.m.

The Boston Globe reports that the woman is in "very serious condition."

MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo said that it was a possibility the 32-year-old driver, who has been with the MBTA for 10 years, was blinded by the sun. The incident remains under investigation by Transit police.
