Woman flown to hospital, power out after East Bridgewater crash

EAST BRIDGEWATER (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) An East Bridgewater woman was flown to the hospital via medical helicopter after a Friday morning crash.

Police say 24-year-old Rebecca Libby was traveling on Harvard Street in East Bridgewater at about 1 a.m. when her mini cooper veered off the road and smashed into a pole.

Libby was not wearing her seat belt and was ejected from the car. She was flown to Boston Medical Center with what police call non-life threatening injuries.

Police say speed was not a factor in the crash. They have not released an official cause for the incident.

Several power lines came down as a result of the crash, which knocked out power to some nearby residents. Crews were on the scene at 5 a.m. working to restore power.
