Woman dies after she was dragged by car, hit by taxi early Sunday

BOSTON — A woman dragged by a car and hit by a taxi late Saturday night died Monday morning, according to police.

Cusandra Webb, 29, was allegedly involved in an altercation among four women outside Victoria's Diner on Massachusetts Avenue Saturday night. Police say Brianna Smith, 26, got in a car and dragged Webb down Mass. Ave. before Webb was hit by a taxi.

Police told FOX25 Sunday morning the taxi was unable to avoid hitting Webb.

She was taken to Boston Medical Center in critical condition, where she died Monday morning.

Her brother, George Webb, said she was a good person who will be missed sorely.

“Life has changed for a lot of people, the world just lost a really good soul today,” he said. “I’m going to miss her, we’re going miss her a lot but we’re going to try to be strong. She was a good heart, good soul, good person, good spirited.”

Police say Smith was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and operating under the influence.

Cussandra's brother says her two children are too young to understand what happened. Malini Basu will have more from him on FOX25 News at 10.
