Woman attacked in South Boston elevator

SOUTH BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Boston police are searching for a person who assaulted a woman inside a South Boston elevator.

Investigators say the assault happened at 15 Channel Center Street at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

The victim was able to run out of the elevator to safety, but no arrests have been made in the attack.

The suspect is described as a clean shaven white man in his 20s, standing approximately 5'6" tall, with a medium build and light brown hair. He is also described as having a reddish, possibly sunburned complexion. At the time of the attack, he was wearing a white t-shirt with a logo on the front and olive or gray colored baggy shorts.

Safety has been a major concern in South Boston in the weeks following the murder of 24-year-old Amy Lord. Investigators say the Southie resident was beaten and driven to several ATMs in Boston before she was fatally stabbed. Lord's body was found by a bicyclist in Stony Brook Reservation.

Edwin Alemany, 28, has been charged in Lord's murder, as well as in the assaults of two other women.
