BILLERICA, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A 38-year-old woman is accused of stealing packages from residents at a Billerica condominium complex and putting them up for sale on the Internet.
Kerry Donovan is charged with two counts of larceny from a building for her alleged connection to the thefts.
Investigators allege Donovan took packages delivered to residents at the Villas at Old Concord on Riverhurst Road and posted them for sale on E-Bay and Craigslist. They were alerted to the thefts by two residents who reported their packages were not at the complex's vestibule when they went to pick them up earlier this week.
Billerica Deputy Chief Roy Frost said, "The people came home and the packages weren't there and when they checked with the carrier they were told they were dropped off."
Detectives say they were able to recover some of the stolen items by setting up an online account and arranging a meeting with the suspect. Police believe between six and seven packages were stolen, including a gas grill and assorted holiday gifts.
Neighbors got all their gifts back and are glad Donovan got caught.
Kathy Reschly said, "I think it served her right. She had it coming. So I'm glad they were able to catch her."
Donovan's being charged with two felony counts. A court date has not been set.
