Woman accused of smashing pint glass on another woman's face

BOSTON ( – An East Woburn woman has been indicted in connection with a street fight that may have left another woman blind in one eye.

Jessica Lucia was indicted on charges of mayhem, assault with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery on a public employee in Suffolk Superior Court Monday.

Police said Lucia picked a fight with the 27-year-old victim at the Beantown Pub at about 2 a.m. on Sept. 20, 2013. According to investigators, she swung a pint glass at the victim's face. The glass broke and caused deep cuts to the victim's face and left eye. Police said Lucia tried to flee officers, called one a name and kicked him in the groin.

When told the victim could lose her eye at booking, Lucia reportedly said, "[Expletive] her, she lost the fight.

Doctors said it is not clear if the victim will ever regain sight in her left eye.

Bail was set at $1,000. Lucia will appear in court again on Feb. 14.
