WESTBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Westborough police have arrested a woman they say stole a wedding ring and smartphone from a patron she assaulted at the town's public library.
The victim told police she was seated at a table in the library on Wednesday morning when another woman walked past her several times. On one pass, the woman grabbed the victim's hair from behind, stole her iPhone and demanded her wedding ring and wallet.
The victim, a 40-year-old Grafton woman whose name was not disclosed, said she did not have a wallet, but gave her attacker her ring.
The Telegram & Gazette (http://bit.ly/WeoDco ) reports that police arrested 20-year-old Raven Williams nearby and charged her with unarmed robbery and assault and battery. Williams is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday.
The victim's ring and phone were recovered.
