BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A group of Good Samaritans stopped a Roxbury man from fleeing after they say he attacked a pregnant woman.
Boston police responded to the intersection of Thorndike Street and Harrison Avenue just before 3 p.m. Tuesday to find the group standing around the suspect, identified as 52-year-old Bernard Robinson. The witnesses claim Robinson was in the process of assaulting a woman while also trying to rob her.
The woman told investigators she was leaving a nearby convenience store when Robinson approached and asked her for money. When she refused, he reportedly became aggressive and grabbed her purse. Before fleeing, the woman claims Robinson chased and assaulted her. Onlookers helped the woman and detained the suspect.
Robinson was arrested and charged with assault to rob unarmed and assault and battery.
