Winthrop man accused of exposing himself to father, young son

REVERE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A Winthrop man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly exposed himself to another man and the man's 5-year-old son at a bathhouse on Revere Beach Boulevard Saturday.

Clifford Avery is charged with lewd and lascivious act, indecent exposure, assault and battery, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest for the incident which occurred at the Shirley Avenue Bathhouse at about 5:40 p.m.

Troopers were told Avery accosted a father and son in the restroom of the bathhouse and then allegedly exposed himself.

Avery fled on foot and led troopers on a brief pursuit along the MBTA Blue Line tracks before being captured. Train service was briefly interrupted during the pursuit, state police said.

Avery is being held at the state police barracks in Revere pending his appearance in Chelsea District Court.

The father and son did not suffer any physical injuries.
