Winslow wins Republican straw poll for U.S. Senate

DANVERS, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- State Rep. Dan Winslow won a straw poll of Republican candidates for U.S. Senate on Saturday.

Nearly 200 people cast their votes at the Danversport Yacht Club.

Winslow secured 79 votes, followed by former Navy SEAL and Cohasset businessman Gabriel Gomez who had 59 votes, and former U.S. Attorney Michael Sullivan with 55 votes.

The three Republican candidates will face off in a primary on April 30. Democratic congressmen Stephen Lynch and Ed Markey will also face off in a primary on the same day.
