Wind surfer found on land after search in waters off Nahant

NAHANT (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A wind surfer was found safe after rescue crews searched the waters off Nahant on Friday afternoon.

The Coast Guard joined forces with Nahant Fire and Environmental Police to search for the missing wind surfer near Egg Rock and East Point.

Rescue crews recovered the surfer's kite, but initially did not find the surfer. They found the surfer on shore a short while after the search began.

The surfer reportedly couldn't catch wind so he abandoned the kite and swam back to shore.
