(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Your ride to work could soon sound very different if you are a fan of WTKK News Talk 96.9.
According to the Boston Herald, the all-talk radio station could soon be switching back to all music. Experts say the all talk format doesn't attract enough young listeners.
Speculation about the format shift peaked Monday when news broke that Internet domain names like 969 Boston's Beat and Power 969 have been taken.
"We deal in a business of attitudes and being
responsive to the preferences of our audiences and the needs of our advertisers
and communities," Greater Media Vice President of Corporate Communication
Heidi Raphael said in a statement.
"We are continually exploring our options, looking for
ways to improve our product and brands." She added, "No decisions
have been made on any changes to the format."
Greater Media owns the station.
WTKK has been a talk radio station since 1999.
