BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Other than Tom Brady, Vince Wilfork is the longest tenured player on the Patriots' roster, but after 10 seasons in New England he has asked the team for his release.
The Patriots have reportedly approached Wilfork about restructuring his contract, but he'd likely take a pay cut. Wilfork is scheduled to make $7.5 million this season, but is coming off of a torn Achilles tendon that limited him to just four games last season. The two sides could still come to an agreement, but as of Thursday Wilfork wants out.
