Widow of Stephen Rakes says family is entitled to Bulger's money

(MyFoxBoston.com) – The widow of a one-time potential witness in the James "Whitey" Bulger trial, who was poisoned in an unrelated incident, says her family should get the mobster's money anyway.

Stephen Rakes' widow claims Bulger extorted money from her family years before he was found guilty. She says her family is entitled to some of the $800,000 FBI investigators recovered from Bulger's Santa Monica apartment in 2011.

On Thursday, the Rakes family officially filed their claim to that money over other Bulger victims.

William Camuti is facing attempted murder charges in Rakes' poisoning death which occurred over the summer.

Prosecutors say he owed Rakes money.
