White supremacy posters found on Emerson's campus

BOSTON — Seven posters sponsored by a white supremacist group were found in two buildings on the Emerson College campus last week.

The College President, Lee Pelton, who is African American, is asking the community and Emerson College PD to identify those responsible for the posters.

"The only way to get into the building is to be a student, especially the residence halls, so it has to be a student, so that's kind of distressing," said Jonah Free, an Emerson student.

The posters were sponsored by a group called American Vanguard, which is currently doing a Northern Propaganda Campaign to spread its message.

On its website, the group says it believes biological and genetic determinism assert the intellectual superiority of the "white race."

"We will not tolerate the promulgation of racist and anti-Semitic declarations in our community," Pelton wrote in an email to the campus community.

Earlier this year, several local universities found hate fliers pouring out of their printers due to an IT hack.
