WEYMOUTH, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A 35-year-old woman was transported to an area hospital after her car struck a parked car and continued into an apartment complex on Maple Street in Weymouth Monday, police said.
Police responded to the Maple Garden Apartments located at 20 Maple Street at about 1:04 p.m. after receiving a call reporting a car had struck the building.
Upon arrival, officers located the car and the victim who lives in the complex where the incident occurred. She was transported to South Shore Hospital with apparent non-life threatening injuries.
Based on the preliminary investigation, it appears that the female was turning into a parking space when she struck another vehicle and continued on into the building.
Several apartments were evacuated as a precaution due to the significant damage to the wall of the building.
An investigation is ongoing. The operator has not yet been cited as investigators are trying to determine exactly what occurred.
