Wet, severe weather possible for Wednesday afternoon

(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - After morning downpours slammed some areas of Massachusetts, more wet weather is possible across the Bay State Wednesday afternoon.

With sunshine through midday, temperatures have climbed into the upper 70s to low 80s with high humidity, allowing conditions to improve for tropical downpours and a few thunderstorms to develop.

Storms that develop will be more hit-or-miss across the state Wednesday afternoon. Some of these storms have the potential to be severe with damaging winds, hail, and torrential downpours. Storms are moving very slowly and could produce flash flooding in some areas as rainfall rates may exceed one to two inches an hour.

Bringing your rain gear to the Bruce Springsteen concert may not be a bad idea as there is a chance of heavy downpours moving across Fenway Park for the start of the concert.

The humidity is expected to drop behind the storms, but is expected to increase again Friday with another round of showers and storms Friday night into the weekend.
