WESTWOOD, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A security guard hired to protect residents in a Westwood apartment complex was stealing from them.
Several burglaries were reported from the Fox Hill Village apartment complex in Westwood starting back in October of last year, officials say. All of the crimes occurred when tenants were on vacation, at the hospital or out of their home for an extended period of time. There was never a sign of forced entry and the suspect may have worn gloves or wiped finger prints.
Police saw the suspect enter the home of a resident away on vacation while watching surveillance video. They were able to obtain a search warrant and arrested Frank Tarr, 60, of Middleboro at his home. His car and surgical latex gloves were taken from Tarr's home. He was charged with two counts of burglary and two counts of larceny from a building, both felonies. Police believe that tens of thousands of dollars were taken during the burglaries.
Tarr was arraigned Tuesday and released on cash bail. The investigation remains ongoing.
