Wednesday forecast: highs in the upper 40s, isolated shower possible

From FOX 25 Meteorologist Shiri Spear

Most towns and cities started Wednesday in the 20s and 30s. With calm winds, it finally felt like those temperature readings!

The light winds and clear skies also caused some fog to develop early morning. Patchy dense fog was reported, especially through southeastern Mass. Fog dissipated by 9 am.

A sun and cloud blend was expected for Wednesday morning. Breaks in the cloud cover will gradually fill in this afternoon ahead of an approaching cold front. Highs will top out in the upper 40s.

The cold front is fairly weak and will pass through southern New England on Wednesday night with only an isolated shower and mostly dry conditions. In fact, skies will clear by sunrise Thursday. The resulting change in wind direction will prompt a minor cool down Thursday.

Thursday will be bright and breezy. Highs will be in the low and mid 40s. Winds will occasionally gust to 30 mph.

Another disturbance will head through late Friday with some overnight showers. Highs this weekend will break into the lower 50s!
