‘We want him to come home:' Relatives retrace steps of missing 23-year-old

BOSTON — After a mother’s desperate search for her missing son fizzles out, friends and relatives are out in force looking for any sign of the 23-year-old last seen at the Celtics game Wednesday night.

Shannon Kelleher and friends spent their Sunday in downtown Boston putting up flyers for their Michael Kelleher.

“He went missing on Wednesday. No one heard from him. Phone is off. We really miss him. We want him to come home,” Shannon said.

Michael was last seen at the TD Garden, watching the Celtics game. A team and city he loves so much that he even has the skyline tattooed on his arm.

“He went with a co-worker. I guess his phone died, when he went out to go to the bathroom or have a cigarette,” said Shannon.

Boston police released surveillance pictures of the 23-year-old at the Garden, but his cell phone was last traced near the Common. So Shannon and her friends spent the day walking and hanging signs near Tremont Street.

His relatives are trying to retrace his steps.

This type of behavior is not expected from Kelleher, his family said.

“I don't think he's irresponsible enough to go missing, I'm hoping he's O.K.,” Shannon said.

She said she just doesn't understand what happened. She was watching his Snapchats that night of the game and said he looked like he was having an amazing time.

The family is begging the public for help. If you know anything, you are asked to call Boston Police or Southborough police, where he lives with his mother.
