Lynn police searching for Easter Sunday murder suspect

LYNN, Mass. — Massachusetts State Police and Lynn Police have identified the man they say shot two men in Lynn on Easter Sunday, killing one of them.

Police say 44-year-old William Cash is wanted for the double shooting outside of the Lynn Arts Building on April 14. The gun used in the shooting has not been recovered and Cash is considered armed and dangerous. The shooting left 46-year-old Leonard Clement dead and another man injured.

According to police, Cash is described as a black man with black hair and brown eyes. He is 5’10” tall and weighs approximately 330 pounds. Police say he has also used the alias William S. Banks and has used alternative dates of birth including: July 6, 1971, July 7, 1971 and July 6, 1981. His official date of birth is July 6, 1972.

Cash, who has a lengthy criminal record in Massachusetts, has ties to Lynn, Boston, and the surrounding area, and Florida.

He may be driving a silver or gray 2005 Chrysler with Massachusetts plates 3FS 819, but police say he may be in a different vehicle at this point.

A warrant has been issued charging Cash with murder.
