Warnings spread about overnight car robberies, Felony Lane Gang suspected

NORTH READING, Mass. — Police across Massachusetts are warning community members to pay attention and avoid leaving valuables in vehicles after an uptick in car break-ins.

The group believed to be responsible is known as the Felony Lane Gang, and according to police members move from community to community very quickly.

The group typically goes from town to town breaking into cars, stealing money, debit cards or check books and then finding ways to empty victims’ bank accounts.

They typically use the furthest lane in a bank drive thru to avoid detection – hence the name Felony Lane Gang.

In Canton, police believe Felony Lane Gang members have gone as far as stealing tires off cars.

A license plate was also stolen of one vehicle parked on one street and then used on a vehicle while purses were stolen from cars in a neighboring community.

The thieves often target women and places where they may leave their purses in the car – like gyms or day cares.

Nearby, Stoughton and Sharon have also reported similar break-ins.

If you feel like you’ve been targeted contact your local police department right away and cancel all credit and debit cards.
