WAREHAM, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A man was arrested after trying to receive a large delivery of marijuana through the mail, according to Wareham police.
An investigation between the Wareham and Middleboro police departments as well as the U.S. Postal Service found that a package delivery intended for 23-year-old Zachary Driscoll at 96 Plymouth Ave. in East Wareham contained between eight and 10 pounds of marijuana. The packages were wrapped like Christmas presents.
After delivering the package to Driscoll on Thursday, detectives seized it and found the marijuana wrapped in 25 individual baggies. Police estimated the street value of the amount to be $18,000 to $20,000.
Driscoll was arraigned at Wareham 4th District Court on the charge of possession of a class D substance with intent to distribute.
