Waltham teen pinned under vehicle, dragged across street

WALTHAM, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A 14-year-old girl was pinned under a car and dragged across a street Thursday in Waltham. She was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

An off-duty officer saw an 18-year-old Newton resident hit two Waltham residents with her car while exiting a driveway on Lexington Street. One 17-year-old victim was thrown to the side and the other victim, a 14-year-old girl, was pinned under the car and dragged across the street and up over the sidewalk.

The officer was able to get a floor jack from Boston Muffler and, with the help of an off-duty detective and firefighter, lifted the vehicle off the girl. Both victims were transported to the hospital. The 14-year-old suffered serious injuries and the 17-year-old sustained minor injuries.

The operator did not appear to be impaired at the time of the crash, officials say. The investigation remains ongoing.
