WALTHAM, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- The Waltham Police Department is warning businesses about a possible scam involving a gumball machine.
Waltham police say a man dressed as a priest and going by the name Father Grover has been visiting local businesses and asking them to allow a gumball machine to be placed near the entrance of their establishment. The man claims the proceeds are going toward hiring new police officers.
The police say the company listed on the machine is the "Metro Police Support Fund," which has no affiliation with the Waltham Police Department.
