NEWTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Police in Newton are searching for a male suspect who reportedly threatened a Walgreens pharmacist at knifepoint and demanded drugs.
According to police, the armed robbery occurred at the Walgreens located at 399 Washington St. around 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The suspect entered the store, approached the pharmacist, brandished the knife, and demanded drugs. He reportedly got into a fight with another employee as he ran out of the store with an unknown amount of prescription drugs.
The store employee was transported to an area hospital.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male. He is approximately 6'0" tall with a heavy build.
