BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – Last week there was a sax battle on a New York City subway car. This week, Boston classes it up with a little violin on the Red Line.
In a video posted on YouTube, violinists Rhett Price and Josh Knowles rock the best cover of Taylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble" we've heard since the Goats Yelling Like Humans version.
Price told Fox 25 that he and Knowles got together last fall and started arranging pop songs for violin. He said they only recently took the act underground.
The duo has performed at a number of T stops, including South Station and North Station. They take requests for both songs and T stops on Price's Facebook page.
A little bit of background on the two: Price says he attended Berklee until he "saw his first bill." He then moved to Texas and joined a country band before moving back to Boston and in with Knowles.
I'm kind of disappointed that I've never seen these guys on the Red Line -- I get the occasional UMass student playing a ukulele (Jack Johnson never gets old), but never anything this awesome.
Since being posted Sunday the video has more than 54,000 views.
