BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A pickup truck crashed on I-93 North Sunday, launching off the upper deck of the expressway before landing on the southbound lower deck, according to Massachusetts State Police.

The 2006 Toyota Tacoma crashed through a light pole, an exit sign and chain link fence, then hit a barrier dividing 93 and Route 1, which propelled it down onto the lower deck.

The driver behind the wheel, 33-year-old Vannak Sao of East Boston, was "extricated" from the truck by firefighters, according to State Police. He was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital. State Police have summoned Sao to court on charges of operating under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Sao told FOX25's Catherine Parrotta that he was grateful that nobody else was injured in the crash, which happened just after 6:20 a.m.. Sao added that he accepts the consequences of his actions.

The driver said the last thing he remembers is falling asleep and hitting a snow bank. Sao said he then remembers waking up to paramedics, fire fighters, and police officers pulling him out of the truck.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation released three separate video angles of the crash. You can watch them above or view on YouTube by clicking here.
