Victim of Ludlow motorcycle crash identified


LUDLOW, Mass. (AP) — Authorities have released the identity of a fatal weekend motorcycle crash in Ludlow.

Police said Monday that 54-year-old Robert Evans of Ludlow was operating the motorcycle at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday when he went off the road and hit a sign, a utility pole and a stone wall.

He suffered what police described as traumatic abdominal injuries and was taken to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield where he was later pronounced dead of his injuries.

State police helped Ludlow police with the investigation.
