• Victim of Danville, N.H. house explosion identified

DANVILLE, N.H. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Officials confirmed Tuesday that a body found in the wreckage of a house explosion in Danville, N.H. belonged to homeowner Audrey Anzalone, 88.

Ron Metcalfe was delivering food to the home on Pine Street Monday as a part of the Meals on Wheels program. He told FOX 25 that he knocked on the door, and Anzalone answered. As he put her meal on the dining room table and brought in her mail, all of a sudden, something blew up.

"And I called for Audrey, and she answered me," he said. "And like a split second after she answered me, fire - an explosion - burst through the front wall of the house."

He did his best to find her, he said, but the fire and smoke were intense.

Firefighters had to truck in water to fight the fire, which completely engulfed the home, because the street did not have fire hydrants. Investigators say there was no gas hookup to the house, and are still looking into the cause of the explosion.

Witnesses told FOX 25 the woman lived in the home for 60 years.
