Vandals deface ‘Try God’ billboard on Mass. Pike

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – Vandals targeted a WQOM billboard along the Massachusetts Turnpike in Brighton overnight.

The billboard, which read "Try God: 1060 AM Catholic Radio," was changed to say: "Try God: The Other WHITE Meat."

In a Facebook post on the Archdiocese of Boston Facebook page, the radio station said the vandals made a sign specifically to cover theirs.

"This is clearly not a circumstance of some teenagers with spray paint. Someone went to a lot of trouble to make it appear that the new text was a real billboard message," the station said. "We pray for those who did this that whatever troubles they have that would cause this action that God heals them and then get the help they need."

The "Try God" billboards have popped up in a number of locations and will run through Sept. 22 in the Boston-area.

The station says the act of vandalism is an indication that the campaign is attracting attention.
