Valentine injured after reading text message on bike

(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Red Sox skipper Bobby Valentine crashed his bike. He was texting while riding.

According to the New York Times, Valentine was riding his bike in New York and received a text from Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia.
    
While reading the text, Valentine swerved to avoid hitting people on a path. The bike skidded and he went flying head first down the side of a hill. Valentine cut up his knees and hip.

The paper says Valentine regrets texting, but is thankful he was wearing a helmet.
