Uxbridge man accused of setting fire to his home

UXBRIDGE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A 43-year-old Uxbridge man was arrested Wednesday night amid allegations that he set fire to his Albee Road home.

Christian Carven was arrested at about 7:45 p.m. on Douglas Street. He was charged with arson of a dwelling after the State Fire Marshal's office responded a two-alarm fire at his home at about 5 p.m.

Neighbors told FOX 25 they heard a loud explosion and saw who they believed Carven riding away from the home on a bicycle.

According to fire officials, there were no reported injuries, but two firefighters were treated after the fact for heat exhaustion.

Witnesses claim they saw Carven return to the scene and he was placed under arrest by Mass. State Police.

Investigators say Carven lived at the home with his wife and two children. They do not believe his family was home when the fire broke out.

The fire remains under investigation.
