• US shutdown delays Mass. jobs report

BOSTON (AP) - The state's monthly jobs report has fallen victim to the federal government shutdown.

The office of Labor and Workforce Development says it will not be able to release the September Massachusetts unemployment rate and jobs breakdown as originally scheduled on Thursday.

Officials explained that the report is based on data compiled by the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics, which has not been able to perform the work because of the government shutdown.
