Unpaid Mass. Pike tolls could lead to insurance cancelation

DEDHAM, Mass. — If you drive on the Mass. Pike, even if it's not for your daily commute, you'll want to make sure MassDOT has the correct address on file for your vehicle.

Alex Doren from Doren Insurance Company in Dedham said when a car without an E-ZPass travels through one of the overhead tolls, a bill will be sent to the address on file connected to the vehicle registration.

"If you don't have the correct address on record, if you go through a toll, they will send a notification to that address, if you don't pay it, it can build up, your registration can be revoked for nonpayment of fines," Doren said.

Those same unpaid fees can also prevent license renewal and allow an insurance company to drop your coverage.
