Two suspects arrested in South Boston stabbing Sunday

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Boston police officers arrested two people in connection with a stabbing death of a man at 246 Dorchester St. in South Boston Sunday afternoon.

At 4:57 p.m., officers found the victim, whose name has not yet been released, with a stab wound to his torso. He was taken to Boston Medical Center with life threatening injuries, and later died at the hospital, police said.

Police arrested and charged South Boston residents Elias Sanchez, age 43, and 16-year-old Angel Sanchez, with murder in the case.

Though juvenile court proceedings are usually closed to the public, "Massachusetts law treats murder suspects under the age of 18 as adults, opening the proceedings against them to the public," according to a statement from the Suffolk County District Attorney's office.

Elias Sanchez was in the hospital and police expected him to be there for several days, but Angel Sanchez was expected to be arraigned Monday, police said.
