Two people arrested in Brockton drug raid

BROCKTON, Mass. — Two people were arrested by Brockton Police at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday in a drug raid.

Police arrested and charged Kie Hendrix, 30 and Ashley Derochea, 28 of Brockton with one count of unlawful possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and one count of conspiracy to violate a controlled substance drug law.

A three-week long investigation conducted by Brockton detectives into a narcotics delivery service led them into executing a search at 39 Woodard Avenue.

Upon arrival, police found Hendrix and Derochea sitting inside a white Toyota Corolla with the engine running in their driveway.

Detectives blocked off the driveway and placed both suspects under arrest.

Police searched the car and found 21 baggies of crack cocaine, weighing in total 8.7 grams, $758 dollars in cash and two cell phones.

This, however, was not the first time police intervened on the dou's drug operations.

Less than three months ago, on Sept. 1, detectives arrested both Hendrix and Derochea after raiding a room at the Motel 6 which was being used as a base for their drug operation. Police seized 15 baggies of crack cocaine, four bags of fentanyl, paraphernalia associated with drug distribution, packaging materials, three cell phones and $110 dollars in cash.

Hendrix is notorious to police for his past drug violations.

He was first arrested by police in June 2008 during a large-scale police operation where 18 people were arrested on drug offenses. At the time, Hendrix was charged with possession with intent to distribute a class B substance (crack), distributing a class B substance and a drug violation near a school or park.

Five years later, he was arrested in March 2013 after police searched Hendrix's car and found a plastic bag containing 10 pieces of crack cocaine inside the vehicle.

Derochea and Hendrix are both expected to be arraigned at the Brockton District Court on Monday.
