Two firefighters transported after early morning blaze in Roslindale

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Two Boston firefighters were transported to the hospital Saturday morning after a 2-alarm fire in Roslindale.

The fire broke out just before 4:30 a.m. at a three-family home on 461 Beech Street.

Eight adults and two children were displaced by the fire. The American Red Cross is providing them with temporary shelter and funds for essentials.

Three firefighters were evaluated by Boston EMS after responding to the blaze. Two were transported to Faulkner Hospital due to heat exhaustion.

Damage to the home is estimated to be $300,000. An adjacent home suffered an estimated $50,000 in damage after its vinyl siding melted from the heat.

There is no word on what caused the fire.
