Two cars, garage burn in Allston fire

Boston fire crews worked to extinguish a fire that burned a garage containing two cars in Allston early Sunday morning.

According to the Boston Fire Department's Twitter account, the fire broke out at 17 Long Avenue at about 7:45 a.m.

When crews arrived they found a garage with two cars inside burning. The garage was a cinder block building which helped contain the blaze, according to fire officials.

Fire officials said they believe the fire was intentionally set and were treating it as an arson.

Investigators told Fox 25 that the fires share some characteristics of fires set in cars in a different section of Allston last fall. They said it was too early to tell if there was a definitive link between the fires.
