Twitter, YouTube capture timeline of Aurora, Co. theater shooting

The first videos from the aftermath of the shooting at the premiere of "The Dark Knight Rises" in Aurora, Co. have appeared on social media sites.

One YouTube video, posted by user tiltwolfe shows customers leaving the theater. One man is apparently covered in blood as others check each other for injuries.

Another video is reportedly police scanner traffic recorded during the incident.

The recording documents the moments following the shooting, including a report that a woman had been shot in the face and the chest and a request that a "bomb dog" be sent to the theater.

Reddit user themurderator said he was shot in the incident and posted images of his gunshot wound and shirt covered in blood:

One of the most chilling Tweets prior to the incident were from a Denver sportswriter who was reportedly killed by the gunman.

@JessicaRedfield: "Never thought I'd have to coerce a guy into seeing the midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises with me."

Later that evening, @JordanGhawi posted about his sister, @JessicaRedfield: "It appears that my sister has been fatally wounded in a mass shooting at a movie premiere in Denver, CO."

KUSA reporter Brandon Rittiman (@brandonrittiman) had one of the initial tweets of the shooting. It read: "Something bad has happened at an Aurora movie theater near I-25 & Alameda. Working on solid info. Lots of ambulances & PD."

When Rittiman arrived at the scene he posted a photo that captured the lights from the massive police presence at the theater.

Inside, theatergoers were tweeting about the incident.

@ZachEtake38 posted, "Have just evacuated our theater in Aurora. There was a shooting in our auditorium. I am safe." He followed with a tweet to @9news, "a little shaken up at the moment. all i can remember is hearing noises and seeing smoke in our auditorium."

@dingos8mytardis: "Yes. It was my theater. I'm outside, one of my friends is still inside. No one knows what's going on."

@Abenezer posted, "We was watching a movie and fire alarm goes off. We step outside&there are 50 police cars& cops with guns. A couple people shot."

@B_Dozier: "they threw a flash bang thing & there was smoke everywhere . then they just started shooting , a lot . it was like one guy though"

@IsaacJRamos: "Every county and city has a cop car at the theater."

@JME817: "Saw three different people who had been shot but hear there are a lot more."

@AWWillie: "Louis was shot in the shoulder and arm, he put his arm up to protect his head. #Thankgod"

@9Rachel: "I have never been more scared then the moments where we were all trapped in the theater, helpless. Unable to get out at all."
