• Twitter kills Margaret Thatcher…again

Twitter was ablaze Tuesday afternoon with the news former United Kingdom prime minister Margaret Thatcher had died, but it will likely take more than a few Tweets to kill the "Iron Lady."

When a Tweet went out from an account seemingly belonging to SkyNews, it was enough for the Twitter world to begin retweeting. Even ABC's senior White House correspondent Jake Tapper got duped.

A few minutes later Tapper tweeted, "WHOOPS fake account apologies. deleting."

The account that provided the original Tweet (which we aren't linking to due to some vulgarity) later admitted the hoax.

Perhaps the best tweet came from Vanity Fair: "R.I.P. Margaret Thatcher Death Hoax (2012-2012)."

The publication's tweet comes in response to the apparent yearly tradition of killing Thatcher on Twitter. Some users said they plan annual vacations and family gatherings around the Tweets.

In fairness to most of the Twitterverse, the fake SkyNews account had amassed more than 30,000 followers, making it look slightly more real.
