Twenty fire departments battle Lancaster barn blaze

More than 20 fire departments were called to battle a massive fire at Manny's Dairy on Brockelman Road in Lancaster Saturday afternoon.

When crews arrived they found a two-story barn heavily involved in the fire and called for a second alarm.

Fire officials said hydrants in the area were not sufficient enough to battle the massive blaze and more crews were called to the scene, prompting a third and fourth alarm.

Fire officials said the fire continued to spread and a fifth alarm was called as crews tried to keep the fire from spreading to another building.

Crews were eventually able to contain the fire. Damage was estimated at about $1.2 million. No injuries were reported.

In all, officials said 75 firefighters were at the scene from 21 departments.
