Tsarnaev associate requests change of venue for trial

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – A friend of the accused Marathon bomber requested a change of venue for his trial on obstruction charges.

The trial was supposed to take place in Boston, but Azamat Tazhayakov’s lawyer does not believe that his client can “obtain a fair and impartial trial” in the Commonwealth, according to court documents filed Friday.

Tazhayakov was a student at UMass Dartmouth with accused bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. He is being charged with obstructing justice after the Marathon bombings. Two other friends of Tsarnaev, who were also students at the university, are facing charges as well.
