SOUTHBOROUGH, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) A truck originally believed to be stolen from a home in Southborough was found in a neighbor's pool.

Southborough Police tell FOX 25 the truck's owner contacted them at about 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday to report his Toyota Tacoma was stolen. The man had the keys with him and a neighbor reported seeing the truck leave about five minutes after he arrived home on Ashley Road.

About a half an hour after the man reported the truck missing, the owner of the home directly across the street called police to say he found a pick-up truck in his swimming pool.

The Southborough police sergeant quickly put two and two together, realizing that the truck was a stick shift.

The truck rolled 60 to 80 yards down a steep hill, passed between two houses, smashed down a metal gate, took a 45-degree turn, and came to a rest in the pool.

It took tow truck companies nearly three hours to remove the truck from the pool.
