FITCHBURG, Mass. — A man from Fitchburg was lucky to walk away Wednesday morning after he lost control of his truck, which skidded down the road and slid into a car before teetering on a wall.
Anthony Saliva said he was driving with 4-wheel drive when he started sliding on slippery roads.
He tried to drive into a pile of trash can bins to stop himself, but ran into them and kept going.
Saliva said he hit a parked car and kept sliding before stopping - by teetering on a wall.
He told Boston 25 he laid down to brace himself. "If I didn't lay down, I think I would've hit the windshield," Saliva said.
He waited a few moments before getting out of the vehicle and calling police.
The crash happened at the end of Crescent and Mount Vernon Streets.
No one was injured in the incident.
