LONGMEADOW, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A Mass. State Police trooper seized close to 200 bags of a substance believed to be heroin during a traffic stop on Route 91 in Longmeadow
A trooper stopped a car for speeding on Route 91 northbound in Longmeadow at about 8 p.m. Monday.
The driver, 27-year-old Philip Patoine, of Brattleboro, Vt. was found to not have a driver's license.
Patoine's passenger, 29-year-old Cassandra Gale, also of Vt. was not properly licensed either.
An investigation revealed close to 200 bags of a white, powdery substance believed to be heroin inside the car.
Patoine and Gale were taken into custody and charged with possession to distribute a Class A substance, conspiracy to violate drug law, and knowingly being present where heroin is kept.
Additionally, Patoine was charged with speeding, a left lane violation, unlicensed operating of a motor vehicle, and providing a false name to a police officer.
